Our Curtain e-locker is an all-round solution, not only it can apply to the share drive, but it also can extend and apply to different systems and applications. For example, PDM, PLM, ERP, DMS and even Self-developed Systems.

For PDM/PLM

Many manufacturing companies are using Product lifecycle management (PLM) / Product data management (PDM) system to manage their data, processes, and business systems throughout the entire lifecycle of a product efficiently and cost-effectively, from ideation, design and manufacture, through service and disposal.

However, when authorized users access the data stored in the system, the data can be leaked out of the company. The demo movie shown here demonstrate how Curtain e-locker works with PLM/PDM system to enhance the data security. Under Curtain e-locker protection, users can open/edit files in allowed areas. Files cannot be saved, exported, sent to external parties if it is not allowed.

For ERP

ERP system is one of the core IT systems in a company. It stores many business data in the system, from financial reports to bill of materials. Most data/report is classified as confidential. If the information is leaked to competitors, it may be harmful to the company.

Curtain Technology

Curtain Technology creates a special directory between the server and the client end-point machine which is called the “Protected Directory”. When end users access confidential data and files that were mounted onto server, the data and files will be downloaded to client’s Protected Directory automatically. End users can act freely in this Protected Directory; such as New Copy, Rename, Delete and Edit, even so they are disabled to copy data and files from the Protected Directory to any external sources. If end users have modified the downloaded files and want to get the ones on server updated, they can upload the file at a pre-defined server location.

Licensing

So, how much is a license and how does the calculation work? Well, literally we have 2 kinds of license; one of them is called the Office Suite License and the other one is called the Universal License. Basically, we have to install the Curtain Licenses according to the applications you use at the end point client machines respectively and also of concern the quantity of end point client machine aka the Workstation.

​

On protecting general office applications, you should purchase Curtain e-locker Office Suite which covers applications in the list of Office Utilities.

​

And therefore, if you would like to protect MS word, MS excel and PDF files for, say, 500 workstations, then you should purchase 500 units of Curtain e-locker Office Suite.

​

If you would like to protect CAD/ CAM design files at workstations, then you should purchase Curtain e-locker Universal Licenses which also cover Curtain Office Suite’s coverage.
